THE RITE OF DEDICATION IN THE NAME OF HEKATE

THE RITE OF DEDICATION IN THISNAME OF HEKATE - DARKMOON HUNTRESS.COM

This is a simple rite based upon one that dates from the fifteenth century in Italy. If you wish to become a "STREGA" then perform the following rite. Feel free to modify it. It's the intent that is important here, but I would advise keeping it as traditional as possible. At midnight when the moon is full, go out into an open field or a clearing within the woods (you can assimilate inside too) and take with you a vessel of water, another of wine, and a mixing bowl. Take also a small red bag containing a sprig of rue as your amulet, and a pinch of salt. Remove your clothing and kneel before the Moon. Dip the sprig of rue into the bowl of liquid and anoint yourself with it, in the manner of the pentacle: forehead - right nipple - left shoulder - right shoulder - left nipple - forehead. Then Cup the sprig of rue in your palms and lift it up toward the Moon, saying:

I kneel beneath the same Moon that all the WITCHES of old have knelt before.

And I am one with them in this sacred light. Hear of Queen of Witchcraft Hekate Mother of the Moon and Dark Lady of the Crossroads - Queen of all Witchcraft for I bear the symbols of the Old Religion Hear me then and think yet even for a moment upon this worship who kneels before you.

For I have heard the Strega's story and I believe the words of the Holy Strega When she spoke of your beauty in the night sky, when she bid us seek and find you above all others. Here is the "FULL MOON"  that shines upon me, receive me as your child Queen Hekate who rules the Heavens and Hells and grants me the powers of those who follow you. For I believe in the gifts of Aradia which you promised to all who will follow in the "Old Ways".

You will anoint yourself with the rue dipped in the bowl and continue to say, Hekate Queen of Witchcraft Mother of Heaven and Hell Goddess of the Moon and Beyond Queen of the Witches Goddess of the dark Night grant me your favor then I ask for a token sign from you. Let there be heard the sound of a dog the croak of a frog or the call of a bird. Anoint yourself a third time with the sprig of rue, saying In the name of the Great
Witch Queen Hekate let it be done.
